Siamo Stelle/We Are Stars is a lovely bilingual (Italian/English) book about finding your potential and appreciating your unique gifts. The art, by The Green Woolen Fedora illustrator, and highly-talented Stella Mongodi, is riveting. The story is written in verse in Italian by author Stella Nosella.
When I was asked to adapt the verse to English, I was thrilled. Writing original text in verse/meter is challenging, but adapting someone else’s verse into English…capturing the spirit and tone of the story with words that are necessarily different, was something new entirely. I thoroughly enjoyed this project. For now the book is not available in the US, but you can check it out here.
